About Us - New England Koi and Pond Supply
It all started about forty years ago with a ten gallon aquarium and a bunch of guppies and has evolved into exotic salt water reef tanks and about 28,000 gallons of koi ponds. While it has all been most enjoyable, backyard water features (regardless of their size), whether they are fountains, pond-less waterfalls, water gardens, goldfish ponds or whatever, has been the most enjoyable by far. You can probably guess that we at New England Koi have pretty much gone the koi pond route but have been involved in all types of water features, many of which are available on this site and are easy and inexpensive to install and maintain.
I personally have three ponds in my small back yard that total about 25,000 gallons and three indoor tanks in my wife's garage (that was a real hard sell) that total about 3,000 gallons and are used for quarantine and wintering over. My favorite koi are Showa, Sanke, and Kohaku and I have several that are over 30 inches long. The ponds are clear and healthy and the koi beautiful, healthy, active and seem to exude the joy of living. Getting here is why New England Koi and Pond Supply, Inc. was started because it was not easy and it was expensive.
Poor advice, incorrect designs, inadequate filtration and aeration, poor nutrition, lack of quarantine, and inferior products contribute to huge expenses in redoing things and sadly, fish losses. We believe our experience as hobbyist can help you avoid this all-to-common scenario which is what we are committed to. We are not a discount retailer but offer quality products, many of which we currently use. We want - NO, WE WILL - be a quality operation dedicated to servicing our customers and promoting the successful and fulfilling koi hobby.
This web site has been a lot of hard work and is still evolving. All comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated, even the bad ones.
