All Liningpond pond filters use Savio Springflo that resists clogging, compaction and channeling. To clean gently agitate the media then drain the filter thru the bottom drain.
The large 3 cu. ft. filter chamber is filled with Springflo biofilter media (included) that provides 180 sq. ft. of surface area for biofiltration and a top mat that polishes the water before it is returned to the pond.
After the water temperature in your pond drops to 60 degrees or below, you should decrease the amount of food given to your fish and feed them no more than once a day using a food designed for cool weather feeding.
